Anarchism

Anarchism is a state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority.

Both Sacco and Vanzetti were anarchists, which many people believe to be among the many reasons they were convicted of murder. Neither of them had a criminal record, and the money that was claimed to be stolen at the time of the murder could not be linked to them. “Sentiment against such so-called 'radicals' as anarchists ran high, however, and circumstantial evidence- much of which was later discredited- mounted against Sacco and Vanzetti” (Miskelly and Noce). This relates to the intolerance of anarchists in the US at this time, and how society used this to blame on them for something they may not have actually done.

Terrorism is also a major issue in the world today.“Anarchist terrorists reveal how the theory could derail into something destructive. In the case of Sacco and Vanzetti, unfortunately, the anarchist violence of others returned to haunt possibly innocent anarchists” (Miskelly and Noce). Today, people reflect this by blaming terrorism on innocent groups of people. Because of the fear terrorism has created, those innocent people are persecuted, discriminated against, and generally abused in today's society.
